Historic Copper Pendants Lights from the London Underground
Own a piece of London's history with this rare and historic light fitting, once gracing one of the iconic London Underground stations. These fittings can still be found in use on several stations today, including Covent Garden.
The frame is entirely crafted from copper, forming a large hexagonal shade format with original opal glass inserts. The copper boasts a wonderful patination acquired over years of use, creating a stunning dark brown tone that contrasts beautifully with the white glass panels. The light emitted from the fitting is beautifully soft and diffused.
This is one of two available; a slightly different version can be found on the following link: Historic London Underground Large Copper & Opal Glass Hexagonal Pendant Lights.
These lights are believed to have been manufactured by prominent lighting companies of the period, including Simplex and Benjamin Electric.
