Original Vintage Hadrill Horstmann Magnifying Desk Lamp
As stunning early example of a Hadrill Horstmann Pluslite designed and manufactured in Great Britain circa 1950.
Designed as a map reading lamp the unique design features an adjustable magnifying glass and counter balance system that allows extensive adjustment of the lamp.
Beautiful condition with original labels intact, makers emblem cast logo to the centre fork.
Our knowledge on Hadrill Horstmann is limited but we know the lamps were originally produced out of their London N2 factory before production moved over to their Godalming Facility in Surrey.
The lamps are usually embossed on the arms with the makers name and address usually giving a clue to its original origin but this lamp is unusual in that neither arms are embossed with any information. The lamp also doesn't have the cover design often seen to the shade which folds over the magnifying glass when not is use, this is not missing it has been manufactured without this feature maybe suggesting this is an earlier experimental design.
The lamp comes complete with 2.5m of premium black fabric three core twisted flex cable, 3A UK Plug and new E27 CE bulb holder. Inline switch to be installed on request.
This lamp would be the perfect addition to any home on a desk, side table or the ultimate bedside lamp.
