Monumental Depth & Detail A truly exceptional flush-to-ceiling fixture sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho.

This piece is defined by the impressive scale of its glass. Unlike shallower flush mounts, this features a deep, hemispherical bowl crafted from thick satin crystal. The frosted finish diffuses the light into a soft, atmospheric glow, but it is dramatically punctuated by sharp, brilliant-cut details. A large starburst radiates from the apex, while the body is detailed with vertical lens cuts and scattered stars that sparkle clearly against the satin frost.

The glass is seated in a heavy-gauge cast brass gallery of superior quality. The casting features a distinct Laurel Wreath or Foliate band running around the perimeter, framed by a fine beaded border. This level of decorative relief is typical of high-end English manufacturing. We have preserved the original aged patina, allowing the brass to retain its darkened, antique bronze character rather than over-polishing it.

Provenance: The Sitch & Co Collection This piece hails from the inventory of W. Sitch & Co, London’s renowned lighting engineers established in 1776. Based in Soho, Sitch & Co were the go-to specialists for the capital’s most prestigious projects.

While they manufactured their own designs, they also supplied and maintained fixtures from the world’s finest makers—including F & C Osler, GEC, and Faraday & Son. Their client list read like a Who’s Who of British heritage, supplying fixtures to National Trust properties, grand country manors, government offices, and West End theatres.

To own a piece from this collection is to own a fixture that has passed through the hands of England’s most exacting lighting curators.

Restoration & Specification The fitting has been sensitively restored in our Nottingham workshop. The brasswork has been cleaned to remove loose grime while strictly preserving the "as-found" patina.
