Soft Light & Sharp Detail A substantial and elegant flush-to-ceiling fixture sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho.

This piece features a large, impressive "Mushroom" profile bowl crafted from high-quality satin crystal. The glass has a frosted (satin) finish which diffuses the light beautifully, but it is elevated by deep, brilliant-cut details. A sharp diamond lattice pattern encircles the shoulder, and a striking starburst sits at the apex. These cuts polish through the frosting, creating a wonderful contrast between the soft, glowing satin and the sparkling clear crystal.

The glass is held by a heavy cast brass gallery of superior quality. The metalwork features a decorative reeded or ribbon-bound design with distinct cross-over detailing—a mark of English casting that separates it from plain utilitarian rings. We have preserved the original aged patina, retaining the warm, darkened bronze tones of the period.

Provenance: The Sitch & Co Collection This piece hails from the inventory of W. Sitch & Co, London’s renowned lighting engineers established in 1776. Based in Soho, Sitch & Co were the go-to specialists for the capital’s most prestigious projects.

While they manufactured their own designs, they also supplied and maintained fixtures from the world’s finest makers—including F & C Osler, GEC, and Faraday & Son. Their client list read like a Who’s Who of British heritage, supplying fixtures to National Trust properties, grand country manors, government offices, and West End theatres.

To own a piece from this collection is to own a fixture that has passed through the hands of England’s most exacting lighting curators.
