Classic English Proportion A substantial and elegant flush-to-ceiling fixture sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho.
This piece is defined by its impressive satin glass dome. The glass has a smooth, frosted finish that acts as a perfect diffuser, emitting a soft, moon-like glow without the harshness of a bare bulb. It is ideal for rooms with lower ceilings where you need significant light output without sacrificing headroom.
The glass is secured by a heavy-gauge brass gallery featuring a distinct "rope twist" or cable border. This tactile design detail adds a layer of depth and quality to the fitting, elevating it above standard utilitarian fixtures. We have preserved the original aged patina of the brass, retaining the character and history of the piece.
Provenance: The Sitch & Co Collection This piece hails from the inventory of W. Sitch & Co, London’s renowned lighting engineers established in 1776. Based in Soho, Sitch & Co were the go-to specialists for the capital’s most prestigious projects.
While they manufactured their own designs, they also supplied and maintained fixtures from the world’s finest makers—including F & C Osler, GEC, and Faraday & Son. Their client list read like a Who’s Who of British heritage, supplying fixtures to National Trust properties, grand country manors, government offices, and West End theatres.

Restoration & Specification The fitting has been sensitively restored in our Nottingham workshop. The brasswork has been cleaned to remove surface grime while strictly preserving the "as-found" patina.
