A rare small-format industrial wall clock by Gents of Leicester, notable for its unusual square case and strong graphic proportions.
Clocks of this type were typically used in factories, workshops, or institutional interiors where clarity and durability were essential. The square case gives the piece a more architectural feel than the company’s standard round models, making it particularly appealing for modern interiors where a compact but visually confident wall clock is required.
This example survives in original working configuration and retains its original impulse (slave) mechanism. The factory black gloss finish has at some stage been overpainted in a bright blue and green colour scheme, which has since developed an appealing worn surface. As part of restoration, our intention is to return the clock to a finish closer to its original industrial appearance, though we are offering it in advance of restoration so the purchaser can influence the final outcome.
The clock will be supplied fully restored and ready to use. The original impulse system will be retained and operated via a modern impulse driver, which can be configured for either mains or battery supply.
