Rare Extra Large Cast Iron Station Clock by Gents of Leicester.

A stunning example and extremely rare oversized cast iron station clock by Gents of Leicester dating circa 1940.

The C24 "Underground" range of clocks were designed to work in extreme conditions with the glass and movement sealed to prevent dirt or moisture ingress and were first introduced in 1914.

Heavy cast iron construction making the clock an incredible sturdy piece at around 50kg in weight, which is mounted to the wall via the three fixed cast mounting feet.

Cast Arabic numerals and indices with the Gents of Leicester makers marks to the lower centre and the trademark arrow head hands which are operated by the original slave movement which is in perfect working order.

the clock is supplied with a modern impulse driver which can be mains or battery powered and impulses once every 30 seconds giving a satisfying clunk with the hand movement.
