Monumental Polished Steel Commercial Uplighters
An exceptionally large and highly sculptural set of architectural uplighters constructed from heavy polished steel. These monumental fittings were designed for commercial environments where both scale and visual impact are essential.
The design is built around a substantial rectangular box-section column supporting a large half-sphere steel reflector. When mounted to the wall the globe section conceals the lamp holder, allowing the light to project upwards and wash the wall above with a dramatic halo of illumination.
The highly polished steel exterior acts almost like a mirror surface, reflecting the surrounding architecture while emphasising the bold geometric form of the fitting. The interior of the hemispherical reflector has a softly aged industrial finish which enhances the warmth of the light when illuminated.
When switched on the fittings create a powerful upward spill of light, producing a striking architectural glow that highlights the texture and height of the wall surface above. The effect is particularly dramatic when installed in multiples along long corridors, entrance halls or commercial interiors.
Because of their substantial scale and weight these are true architectural fixtures rather than decorative domestic lights. They are ideally suited to large interior spaces such as hotels, restaurants, galleries, theatres or other commercial environments where lighting must perform both as illumination and sculptural statement.
