A rare and imposing run of extra-large linear industrial pendants manufactured by Thorux and reclaimed from the historic Rolls-Royce engineering works in Derby.
At nearly 1.9 metres in length, these fittings were designed to illuminate serious industrial environments — spaces where precision engineering and manufacturing excellence took place.
They are the final batch from a substantial original lot salvaged from the factory.
Provenance – Rolls-Royce Derby
The Rolls-Royce Derby plant, established in 1908, became one of Britain’s most significant engineering sites. During the Second World War it played a critical role in the production of the Merlin aero engine — the powerplant behind the Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft.
Post-war, Derby continued as a centre for aerospace development, turbine engineering and precision manufacturing.
These fittings would have hung above decades of British engineering achievement — a tangible connection to one of the country’s most important industrial sites.
