An exceptional Best & Lloyd cast bronze plafonnier pendant, featuring a large moonstone glass bowl housed within an intricately cast bronze gallery and suspended from a traditional three-chain hanger.
The fitting displays the characteristic high quality casting associated with Best & Lloyd, one of Britain’s most respected early twentieth-century lighting manufacturers. The three-way suspension hanger is clearly stamped B&L, confirming the maker.
The heavy cast gallery incorporates a beautifully detailed twisted rope border terminating in sculpted knot mounts, giving the fitting a strong architectural presence while maintaining the elegant restraint typical of high-end British lighting from the period.
Suspended beneath the gallery is a substantial moonstone pressed glass plafonnier bowl, softly diffusing light and creating a warm ambient glow ideally suited to entrance halls, stairwells and grand interior spaces.
