A refined and highly decorative fixture sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho. The piece features a large 14-inch (355mm) "moonstone" glass bowl, which is intricately moulded with relief Neoclassical detailing: vertical fluting adorns the lower basin, while the upper band displays elegant fan (shell) motifs connected by delicate swags.
The bowl is set within a decorative turned brass ring that features a dark, statuary bronze patina. The metalwork is embellished with three applied cast ornaments featuring a central shell crest with flowing ribbon tails, perfectly echoing the motifs found on the glass itself. The fixture is suspended by three chains attached to distinctively shaped geometric hooks.
