An stunning original large art deco square illuminated wall clock.

ECS or English Clock Systems were the commercial arm of "Smiths" S. Smith & Sons (England) Ltd until being renamed English Clock Systems Ltd in the early 1940's and were one of the largest commercial electric clock companies globally along with Gents of Leicester and Synchronome.
This example is in stunning condition with a polished chromed steel case and art deco design it is likely to have been originally installed in a retail or prestigious office environment.
The clock face is a wonderful opaline glass which is actually reeded the the rear presumably to aid diffusion and the face text and time indents are actually slightly embossed into the glass face, craftsmanship that rarely seen in today's mass produced markets.
The original electric movement was unsafe so has been replace with a new high torque synchronous mains (240v) movement.
The original lighting has been updated with efficient led lighting which is controlled via a mobile app and can be fully scheduled with no need to manually turn off and on.
