Synchronome, established in 1895 by Frank Hope-Jones, allowed multiple wall clocks to be synchronized through electrical impulses from a master clock. The system became popular in the public and private sectors across Britain. Frank was a well-known figure in horological circles and beyond, often referring to himself as Old Father Time. The Synchronome brand was relaunched in the 21st century, focusing on hand-crafted wall clocks that recreate historic designs with modern quartz movements. These clocks are now autonomous and independent, unlike the original slave dials.
