A substantial flameproof industrial pendant light manufactured by Heyes & Co Ltd of Wigan, a well-known British manufacturer of heavy industrial lighting designed for hazardous environments.

This fitting forms part of the Heyes “Wigan” series, designed as a certified FLP (Flameproof) enclosure, intended for use in environments where explosive gases or dust may be present. The thick cast aluminium body and heavy prismatic glass lens ensure both durability and controlled light distribution.

The lens is a deep convex prismatic optic, producing a striking concentric light pattern when illuminated while directing the majority of light downward. When lit the optical glass produces an exceptional industrial aesthetic typical of mid-century engineering environments.
