An exceptionally rare and imposing light fixture by the prestigious British engineers Faraday & Son, sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho.
This piece is defined by its colossal scale and engineering quality. The shade is a massive 542mm bowl of heavy-gauge crystal, featuring a deep diamond lattice cut body and a crisp upper band of vertical lens cuts. Despite its size and age, the glass remains in perfect condition.
The bowl is held by a substantial architectural bronze gallery. It is suspended via a heavy-duty 6-way hanging system, which unites at a central distributor hub stamped with the maker's mark "F&S" (Faraday & Son). This complex suspension not only supports the significant 17kg weight but adds a dramatic, industrial-classical aesthetic to the drop.
A true statement piece of early 20th-century British manufacturing, designed for grand commercial spaces, hotels, or principal rooms requiring a fixture of significant volume.
