An extra large scale industrial pendant by Benjamin Electric, finished in original grey enamel with a white enamel interior. Part of the same Glassteel range documented in the original Benjamin Electric catalogue, these examples are offered without the glass diffuser — the open shade presenting a direct, functional light output well suited to kitchen, commercial and industrial-influenced interiors. The Shade
The shade is pressed steel finished in original grey enamel — a deep battleship grey with a high gloss surface to the exterior and a white enamel interior for maximum light reflection downward. The profile is the classic Benjamin form — a broad shallow dome with a pronounced vented neck section incorporating ventilation apertures around the circumference. The enamel carries honest wear consistent with working use — minor surface blemishes to the dome face — but retains its gloss and structural integrity throughout. At 508mm diameter these are genuinely large scale, commanding in any interior that can take the proportion.
Open Shade Configuration
These examples are without the original glass diffuser, presenting the lamp directly within the open shade. This gives a harder, more direct light output than the diffuser variant and a more overtly industrial character — the white enamel interior providing the sole diffusion and directing light downward cleanly and efficiently.
