Extra large steel railway station clock by English clock maker Gents of Leicester circa 1960.
Stunning industrial design with steel casing retaining the original aged black paint and beautiful distressed ageing to the hand painted face which is 24 inch in diameter with the typical Gents font and tapered batton hands.
Installed in many public buildings such as railway, tram and bus depots along with factories and military facilities these clocks have seen decades of history pass bye and possess character that cannot be replicated.
This particular clock was recovered from a factory in Sheffield and was found behind a wall when demolished so the clock had been bricked in like a time capsule for over 50 years.
A stunning feature piece for any wall space bring a little industrial chic that can work both private and commercial interiors.
The clock retains its original slave movement which is ran by a modern impulse driver which can be powered by mains electric or battery.
The artists figure in the images is 6ft 1" to give a representation of scale.
