This an exceptionally rare Gents of Leicester illuminated clock circa 1950 originally hung in the fish hall of Smithfield market, Manchester.
Partially demolished in the 1970's the clock was obtained by a collector and has sat in storage since
The case condition was poor so the decision was made to sandblast and powder coat to its original black finish. The clock faces were in a good condition.
The original slave movements have been retained and a modern impulse driver installed which on this clock are mains powered 240V.
New LED tube lighting has been installed which can be controlled via a mobile app which allows scheduling of the lighting without effecting power to the clocks movements.
This rare, sort after clock will be the feature piece of any room. Due to its large size would be best suited to a very large room and would look especially good in a commercial environment like a shop or bar.
