A Rare Matching Pair A distinct and highly desirable matching pair of flush-to-ceiling fixtures sourced from the historic archives of W. Sitch & Co, Soho.

Price is for the Pair

These pieces are defined by their exquisite glass work. Each heavy crystal dome features a deep "Star-Cut" or Starburst pattern at the apex, surrounded by a precision-cut diamond lattice. This complex cutting acts like a prism—when lit, the glass refracts the light into a sparkling, gem-like display that casts beautiful geometric patterns across the ceiling.

The glass is held in a heavy-gauge cast brass gallery of exceptional quality. A key sign of their engineering pedigree is the functional hinged bezel—the glass ring is hinged and secured by a latch, allowing the face to swing open for easy bulb changes without removing the fitting. We have preserved the original heavy patina of the brass, which has darkened to a rich, bronzed tone over the last century.

Provenance: The Sitch & Co Collection These pieces hail from the inventory of W. Sitch & Co, London’s renowned lighting engineers established in 1776. Based in Soho, Sitch & Co were the go-to specialists for the capital’s most prestigious projects.

While they manufactured their own designs, they also supplied and maintained fixtures from the world’s finest makers—including F & C Osler, GEC, and Faraday & Son. Their client list read like a Who’s Who of British heritage, supplying fixtures to National Trust properties, grand country manors, government offices, and West End theatres.

To own a piece from this collection is to own a fixture that has passed through the hands of England’s most exacting lighting curators.

Restoration & Specification The fittings have been sensitively restored in our Nottingham workshop. The brasswork has been cleaned to remove loose grime while strictly preserving the "as-found" patina and verdigris character.

They have been re-engineered for modern safety:

  • Wiring: Brand new, certified cabling.

  • Holders: Fitted with new internal ceramic bulb holders (E27 or B22 as required).
