Large British Vitreous Enamel Domes – Circa 1940
An architectural-scale example of the classic British Maxlume factory pendant.
These feature oversized spun steel dome shades finished in original green vitreous enamel with white enamel interiors, paired with an elongated stem section and a beautifully engineered multi-component steel gallery.
The upper steel assembly has been carefully stripped and given a restrained satin finish, revealing the layered ventilation detailing and mechanical construction. A separate collar section remains present and may be retained or removed depending on installation preference — originally designed to reduce dust ingress into the lower shade.
These are substantial, vertically proportioned fittings with genuine industrial presence.
