Later C24 Cast Iron Industrial Clock by Gents of Leicester.
Made in Leicester, England 1960.
Introduced in 1914 and known as the C24 or Underground clock these heavy duty cast iron clocks were weather sealed and designed for use in extreme conditions.
Hand painted face with wonderful signs of wear, raised Arabic Numerals cast into the face of the entirely cast iron clock.
Face is marked with the later Gent of Leicester marking used circa 1960 but retains the arrowhead hands often used on earlier clocks so may have been a cross over period between the date & change in styles.
The clock is provided with a modern battery quartz unit to run the existing trademark gents arrowhead hands.
