Extra Large Industrial Bulkhead Lights by Heyes & Co Ltd, Wigan
A substantial set of extra large heavy industrial bulkhead lights manufactured by Heyes & Company Ltd of Wigan, a British manufacturer known for producing extremely robust lighting for hazardous and heavy industrial environments.
These fittings were designed for use in volatile and demanding industrial settings, with thick cast aluminium housings and heavy convex prismatic glass lenses providing both durability and excellent light distribution. The pronounced concentric prism pattern in the glass produces a beautifully diffused and distinctive light when illuminated.
The fittings retain their original industrial character, with visible casting marks including HEYEs LIGHTING, along with the original PETREL Ltd / HEYES identification plate, confirming the specification and certification details.
Each light features a deep convex prismatic glass enclosure designed to protect the lamp while dispersing light evenly across surrounding surfaces. The industrial construction and generous scale make these highly suitable for both architectural restoration projects and contemporary industrial interiors.
The lights remain currently unrestored, presenting the option to retain the original industrial patina or refinish to suit a particular interior scheme. When restored the cast aluminium bodies respond particularly well to polished, raw, or satin finishes.
